Obituary

VALENTI, Rochelle A. (nee Borstad) Passed away on February 12, 2020. Of Marlton, NJ. Age 63. Beloved daughter of the late Orville M. and Renee L. Borstad. Devoted mother of Jarod Valenti. Caring sister of Clyde Borstad and the late Wayne Borstad (Survived by Mary Lou Borstad). Rochelle will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Rochelle was born in Lackland USAF base in San Antonio, Texas. Having been the first of three born into a military family, she had great memories of living in several states and countries. From Texas to Okinawa, she could recall the fun times, especially being the only girl with two brothers. Often, recalling that it wasn’t easy sitting between the two boys on family road trips. She had to be just as tough as them; to include, playing games in the mud and games with spiders in Okinawa! Rochelle’s family settled in Willingboro, NJ, where she spent her childhood. Rochelle was a long time resident of Mount Laurel, NJ, prior to moving to Marlton in 2019.

Rochelle’s childhood friends have remained close with her throughout the years. Her JFK high school friends, to this day, still meet once a month; a very dear group of Ladies to Rochelle. Rochelle earned her Associates Degree at Burlington County College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Minor in Sports Medicine, at Kean University. She was the Head Resident of an entire student apartment complex at Kean University, working toward her Masters in Sports Medicine. It was there that she found her true passion of leadership and management. She was in Hotel/Restaurant management for a majority of her working career. She retired from her job as a Senior Allocator for Burlington Stores.

Rochelle was a wonderful mother to her son, Jarod. She was the room mom, cub-scout leader mom, traveling Gymnastic Team mom. She was “that mom”- the mom that hand-made her child’s Halloween costumes and designed the team T-shirts...then made the shirts! Homemade fudge, candies and pretzels every holiday for teachers, friends and family. She made being a single-mom look easy.

Rochelle was a compassionate and considerate daughter, sister, mother, family member and friend. She will be remembered fondly and with great respect. Rochelle’s love and devotion will forever be in our hearts. She will be missed dearly and loved forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service on Monday February 17th at 10:30 AM at Crescent Memorial Park, 7349 Westfield Ave, Pennsauken, NJ 08110. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

I was honored to know Rochelle she was a good Daughter, Mother, and Person. I met her through her Mom who I worked for. We became friends. I remember her Wedding the Birth of her son and many more things. When her Mom got sick it was Rochelle that took on the burden of caring for her. RIP
