Obituary

Robert D. Taylor passed away peacefully at 5:55 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from natural causes.

Born on March 12, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, he later lived in California, Elm NJ, and Voorhees NJ.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and graduated from The Pennsylvania State with an associate degree in Engineering. He went on to work at United Engineers and Constructors Inc as a Benefits Manager and an Independent Insurance Agent before retiring from a career as a Sales Representative for Primary Concepts in Berkeley California.

He is remembered for his outgoing, friendly personality; hearty, contagious laugh; love of cooking (especially seafood and Italian dishes); gardening; fishing; walking; vacationing at the shore with his family; and love of the beach and ocean. One of his favorite pastimes was watching and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew C. Taylor and Margaret Taylor (Ludwig), and his sister, Eileen Melnicoff.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Taylor (DeMarco); daughter, Linda Hodnett (Tom); granddaughters, Taylor and Laura; brother, Matthew Taylor (Charlotte); brother-in-law, John Melnicoff; niece, Jennifer Metch (David); and nephew, Robert Melnicoff (Meggan), and devoted cousin John Taylor Kersic.

My deepest condolences. Bob was such a wonderful man and I’m grateful I got to know him. I will always remember his joyful laugh and his love of cooking a seafood feast on a warm summer day.
