Very sad to hear of Mr. Lucas’ passing. He was a strong influence in my life. His support and constant encouragement during my high school years were so important to help me develop as a man. He taught me to focus on what is actually important, and to approach life in a straightforward manner and to always be open and honest when communicating with others. A little part of him will live on in me and I know countless others. God bless you Mr. Lucas!

There was nothing I enjoyed more than to hear Dick yell out nightly for all to hear"Wiffle Ball in the court". It was a rallying call for the would-be athletes on Waverly Rd. to come out and play Wiffle Ball.
I will remember all the great times we had and will miss him always.

To Pat and all the Lucas family. Helen and I are so sorry to hear of Dick's death. Having been neighbors for more than 20 years on Waverly Road, I have a number of fond memories of times together. For a while I was Dick's fix-it guy and I enjoyed helping the two of you whenever I could. There were pinochle games, bowling, neighborhood parties, the Neighborhood Olympics, and many, many more times we happily shared. Dick will live in in our memories as part of a wonderful time in our lives as our children grew up together and we were not only neighbors, but friends. May he rest in eternal peace
