Peter D. Dovas, age 79, of Marlton, NJ passed away November 8th, 2020 at home surrounded by his wife and his five children and their respective spouses. He is the son of the late James and Sophia (Criaris) Dovas and the grandfather of the late Luke Dovas. He is survived by his wife Betty of 53 years, children LisaSophia (Craig Vines), Alexis (Jonathan Segarra), Dimitri, Nicholas (Jeanette Fisher) and Christopher (Tracey Sperling), ten grandchildren, father-in-law Peter C. Bandy, brothers-in-law and their spouses, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.. Donations can be given to the American Cancer Society.
Peter was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. In 1951 his family moved to Pennsauken, NJ. After briefly living in Germantown he settled in Marlton, NJ in 1970. A graduate of Merchantville High School and Temple University, Peter was president of Epsilon Phi Sigma (1965-1967), a member of the Sons of Pericles, and enjoyed a career in commercial lending spanning almost half a century. As a classic car enthusiast and collector, Peter won several awards and trophies for his 1965 Galaxie 500 XL convertible. He had a zest for life–enjoyed world-wide travel, participated in classic car shows, played the guitar, composed several musical compositions, repaired classic model trains, and designed landscapes. His most rewarding activity was doting on all of his children and grandchildren and spending time with his family. Although he may no longer be with us, his memory will be eternal.
