Julia M. Kilgore ( 9/1/1927 - 8/14/2020)
Of Marlton, NJ. (nee Hawk) Passed away on August 14, 2020. She was 92 years old. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Kilgore for 64 years. Loving mother of Karen Kilgore Jablonsky. Devoted grandmother of Cara Kilgore Stefanacci. Dear sister of the late Alice Wolter (the late Merle), the late Lillian Atwell (the late Palmer), Joan Singles (the late Dave) and Ella Mae Graff ( William ). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Formerly of Colwyn and Folcroft, PA, Mrs. Kilgore served as a clerical/secretarial worker at W.T. Grant in Folcroft and Trueform in Sharon Hill. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 11am-12:00 pm and to the Funeral Service at 12 pm on Wednesday, August 26 at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, 601 NJ 73 South (at Evesham Rd.), Marlton, NJ. She will be buried with the love of her life, her husband Edward at Brigadier General Doyle Veterans Cemetery privately.

She was one of the five beautiful Hawk sisters from Colwyn, Pa. Despite the great difference in age from the oldest to the youngest ( 25 years), they were always close. It has been said that the greatest gift their parents gave them was “each other”.

She always looked forward to visits from her granddaughter During those visits, Julia, Karen and Cara, “ the three generations” would spend quality time together including meals that were filled with laughter and love. During Cara’s early years, Julia lovingly cared for Cara every weekend so her mother could work. Julia was the best mother and mom mom that her girls could ask for. By her example she has set the bar high.

She loved her many nieces and nephews ( and their spouses) as well as great nieces and nephews and had a special relationship with each of them. She always rejoiced in the new births in the family.

She was dedicated to her family and extended family and loved by all who knew her. She was a lifelong card player ( getting together with her card ladies every friday night in Folcroft) , back yard cook-out organizer extraordinaire, and also grew to love the many animals her daughter brought home over the years. At one point in time she shared a double bed with my father and three dogs. She liked to tell the story of the time she rolled over in bed and came face to face with the English Setter, Gulliver , laying with his head on the pillow next to her. lol

She was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and would never miss watching a game. She enjoyed helping the coaches from the living room. lol One of her favorite things to say during an Eagles game was, “Get em down!! Get em down!!” Every morning she would listen to Philadelphia sports radio ( listening to her morning guys) recounting the game.

In her later years she enjoyed backyard bird watching and looking out the back window at the flowers. She would always comment on the bird activity of the day, the beauty of the flowers and the sparkling prism. She took pleasure in the love of her family and the simple things in life. She will be so greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to …

Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge ( A wildlife refuge , hospital and rehabilitation center located in Medford, NJ

K9’s for Warriors ( this organization rescues and trains shelter dogs for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.
