Obituary

GRAFF, John David, Jr., of Boca Raton, FL, passed away suddenly on May 26, 2020. John was born on November 5, 1968 in Philadelphia, PA. He was 51 years young. He was full of life and love and was taken from this world too soon. John was loved dearly in his life. He was the beloved son of John David Graff, Sr. and the late Shirley (nee Kuriger) Graff. Loving husband of Shawna Leah Graff. Devoted father of his twins, John D. Graff III and Isabelle Kathryn Graff. Dearly loved brother of Cheryl Graff Sherlock and her husband, James and Justin D. Graff and his wife, Kristen. Dear uncle of James Tanner, Conner and Kyler Sherlock. He is also survived by his step children, Levi and Audrey Dodge and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

John grew up in Delran, NJ and was a 1986 graduate of Holy Cross High School. He attended Rutgers University and was a graduate of Old Dominion University. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and spent many hours as the First Mate of his family’s fishing boat out of Cape May, often winning the many offshore tournaments he entered. The great memories made from spending summers in Sea Isle City and Cape May will always be treasured. John raised his children in Tabernacle, NJ. He was a coach for the Seneca Youth Wrestling Program and the Seneca Youth Football Program as well. He cherished the time spent mentoring and coaching many children. John loved spending time in the gym and was completely dedicated to fitness. John’s athleticism was inherited by Jack and Isabelle as evidenced by their many achievements in both wrestling and gymnastics. He truly loved every moment spent watching his children compete, and looked forward to their daily conversations about everything from their shared love of animals, sports, politics and their future. He was incredibly proud of Jack and Isabelle’s academic and athletic excellence. He spent a lifetime staying politically informed. John loved to golf with his family and was always the best dressed guy on the course! In Florida, he was able to continue to coach and enjoy the beach time that he loved. John was a lover of many things: animals, his dogs, Annie, Sky and Kendall, coaching and having a good laugh with family and friends and most of all, his children. He was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, and even had his office in Florida decorated with Eagles memorabilia! His charm, smile, intellect and incredibly quick wit, rivaled by none, will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
