John R. Ernst passed away unexpectedly into God’s loving and eternal care on October 29, 2020. He was the beloved and adored husband of Cheryl Ernst (nee Zoppina). Loving father of Adrienne Ingram and caring step-father to Wayne A. Bell. Adoring grandfather of Ava and Valen and very much like a son to his Father-in-law Anthony Zoppina. Predeceased by his parents, John and Jean Ernst. John will be missed by his many friends, colleagues and extended family members. He enjoyed an illustrious career at Deborah Heart and Lung Center that spanned over 40 years. He retired at the end of 2010 holding the title President and CEO. After his retirement, he wasn’t quite ready to sit idle, so, he decided to purchase a closed down, well known South Jersey restaurant, Mr. Bills. Through his tireless hard work, with Cheryl by his side, what seemed impossible by two people who had no restaurant experience came back to life as a thriving business in just 4 years. John’s vision there is completed. John loved his Corvettes, throwing the dice in Vegas or AC and spending time on Marco Island, FL. He was a people person and had a quick wit. He could roll out jokes like a comedian. To know him, was to love him. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, November 5th from 4-7 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. A prayer service will be held 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Friends and family are also invited to say a few words. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s name may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, 200 Trenton Rd., Browns Mills, NJ 08015

Cheryl: Winnie and I are both very sorry for your loss. John was a g smart and kind person I was glad to know. We had so much fun in playing tennis together for so many years and I truly missed his humor and all those good times including the Deborah tennis and golf outing. He will be missed by so so many people that came to know him. Chester & Winnie Lau

Since the early 1980's when I first met John, I knew he was a very special person.Booking his travel arrangements for Deborah was only a small part of truly knowing John. He was a man of integrity, great humor and true honesty. Cheryl, please know you are in our thoughts daily. Vegas, AC, Marco, Maui, all have John's signature on them.

May you find comfort in God’s promise at Revelation 21:3,4. “God himself will be with them.
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning
nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away.”

Cheryl, we are so sorry for the loss you are feeling. John definitely was an outgoing person, making him loved by so many. The two of you together brought so much energy and love to those around you. May you know the comfort of God's love through these difficult days.
Our sincere sympathy,
Russ and Sue McLaughlin
