I want to pass along my sympathies to all of Guenter's family and friends. I will always remember Guenter as a kind and thoughtful man. We never worked directly on a project at Mobil. But we did work together in the South Jersey Section of the ACS where Guenter served for many years as an officer and the Sections' historian. I remember that he was very helpful in "bringing me into the fold" and provided many ideas and support to me as a newbie Chairman. Both he and Christine were avid supporters of the Section and attended nearly every monthly meeting with childhood-like smiles of intellectual curiosity and community. Ruhe in Frieden, Guenter.

To the entire family my deepest sympathies and condolences.
Guenter was a colleague, a mentor and a friend! I worked closely with him from 1987-1993. We spend many long hours and days working at Brookhaven National Laboratory doing EXAFS experiments along with Geoff Woolery, Bill Borghard and Dave Calabro. On occasion Christine would accompany him.
Gunter was a consummated scientist and kind and gentle soul. I spent many hours listening to his stories from Europe.
May his memory always be a blessing to all of us fortunate enough to have known him. This picture was taken February 1993 at a Catalyst Group party at my home.

Guenter was great zeolite scientist and my mentor at my days in Mobil. He taught me so much about zeolite. We loved discussion on the nature of acidic sites determined by various characterization methods. He was kind and great mentor in work as well as in life. I remember Guenter and Christine were great dancers. I miss you, Guenter! Hye Kyung Timken
