Obituary

Gretchen Ann Blansett (Beykirch) 66 passed away peacefully on August 23, 2020. Gretchen was born in Tulsa Oklahoma to John and Marie Beykirch but grew up and spent most of her life in New Jersey. Growing up her weekends at the shore on the boat fishing with family was her most treasured pastime. She attended Tennessee Wesleyan and achieved a teaching degree. Gretchen was a physical education teacher, spending most of her career at Countryside School in Mount Laurel; where she was known as Ms.B and for her favorite saying “Hot Dog!!!” Gretchen also coached soccer and basketball in Medford for a number of years. For the last five years she lived at Brookdale in Voorhees with her precious dog Bella where she was head ambassador and made many friends over the years. She loved playing rummikub, tending to the garden, daily exercise and signing in their choir.
She is survived by two daughters Nadia (Joe) and Mia. She has 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Katherine and Elizabeth. Also her brother Frank and sister Jacqui, nephews Nick(Katy), Jack and nieces Amy(Brian) and Abby(Alex).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bradley Funeral home on Thursday August 27, 2020. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 PM. Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be sent to Samaritan Hospice (www.samaritannj.org) where Gretchen was cared for in her final days.
