ARENA, Charles Natale, Jr. passed away on November 6, 2020. He was 82.

Mr. Arena is survived by his loving family. He is beloved husband of the late Catherine M. 'Miki' Arena (nee Pearson). Loving father of Suzanne Arena, Chuck Arena and Doug Arena. Dearly loved grandfather of Connor Arena, C. Nicholas Arena, Aidan Arena and Gavin Pearson. Dear brother of Anthony Arena and the late Maryanne Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles N. Arena, Sr. and Esther Arena (nee Nostria).

He was a proud veteran of the US NAVY which gave him the opportunity to travel the world. Mr. Arena retired to Hollywood, Florida 16 years ago. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and he and his wife raised their family in Glen Oaks and Cherry Hill NJ. In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Arena opened his first location of ABCO Insurance in Woodbury NJ. Mr. Arena and his family spent summers in Ocean City and he enjoyed vacationing at his property in Costa Rica. He was an avid boater at the Jersey Shore and the shores of Florida. I was fortunate to know Charlie, as one of my brother, Jeffrey's, friends. They enjoyed a lot of unique experiences together. Charlie always had a smile to greet you. He will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences to his family. God bless you in this time of need.

Suzanne, Chuck, Doug, and family,
I was saddened to hear about the sudden loss of Charlie. Although tragic, please keep in mind that he is in a good place now with Miki. “Mr. A” was a man of few words, but efficient they were! For instance, I remember a time when I walked into the kitchen and the family was zealously preparing for a large meal for many guests at the Cherry Hill house. The food was prepared quickly, of high quality and impeccable presentation. This “project” was being overseen by Mr. A and all but 5 words were spoken by him throughout the duration of the preparation efforts. Efficiency at it’s best! I also remember a time in OC when it became “necessary” for me to spend the night after a long night out with everyone. The next morning, Mr. A walked into the room I was sleeping in. He squeezed my big toe to wake me up. I was initially startled and a bit embarrassed, but Mr. A smiled and let out a quiet, short laugh. I immediately felt welcomed and awash with comfort (even though I had a headache!). There are, of course, other memories, but too many to write here. So, thank you Mr. A, for being a part of my life, albeit small, you still left a big, positive impression.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
